Some Kind of Magic Happening.

If you read my most recent posts, you know that my own grasp of the potency of the Wisdom of Birth deck has expanded and transformed since using her more and more in practice.

The original and still lasting intention is for this deck to be used during pregnancy to offer guidance and insight to support people in feeling well prepared for all that birth is and can be.

I envision an expectant mother flipping through the deck and guidebook being drawn to imagery and prompts that make her turn to her partner, and say, “will you remind me of this?”, “let’s learn more about that”, etc. I picture our cards and prints and candles on home “altars” reminding pregnant people of their strength and power. I see the deck in clinic waiting rooms inviting expectant parents to tap into the elements of support they most need in that moment.

I imagine the layers of meaning landing as needed. Literally, and metaphorically.

I see the potency of the deck for birthworkers, facilitators, and practitioners of all kinds. Cards being pulled in advance of a session or during a birth, the way I have been doing, to receive the messages that can best support whatever is unfolding.

I recall a birth I was attending that seemed to be progressing smoothly at first, but then seemed to stall. I pulled the “Waiting” card, an accurate reflection of the moment, that helped me relax and surrender into that birth taking the time it needed to take, without force.

Then there’s the potency of this deck for those of us who have long since given birth, or may not yet or even ever give birth, who can still appreciate the wisdom of birth for all manner of being with life’s unfolding.

Like the woman who sat next to me at a yoga and breathwork class and pulled the “Just This One” card. Not only as a reminder to stay present and not get ahead of herself, but also because the lotus flower on the card appeared as a symbol that she was on the right path since recently returning from travels where lotus flowers abounded.

There is some kind of magic going on here, and we want as many people as possible to be a part of it.

Will you help us by contributing to the kickstarter? Get a deck for yourself, and/or to gift. Whether you’ve already pledged or not, please share our campaign with at least one new person in your world, and consider increasing your pledge to include an extra reward.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support!
